Italy: Macfrut 2012 oscars will award innovation

This is one of the most awaited events at Macfrut as well as one of the most desired acknowledgements in the field of innovation of the fruit and vegetable sector. The 2012 edition will assign the Macfrut Oscar for innovation which, during the international exhibition to be held in Cesena (Italy), will award the most cutting-edge products presented by the exhibitors. The four categories are as follows: machinery and technology for selection and packaging; packaging and materials; seeds and fresh fruit and vegetable products; logistics and services.

A commission made up of distinguished representatives of institutions and agro-food research will assign the awards. Besides the awards given to each category on the basis of the judges’ assessment, a general Prize will also be awarded according to the preferences of visitors and exhibitors taking part in the trade fair. The awarding ceremony will be celebrated on Friday 28th September at 2.30pm.

The 29th edition of Macfrut will take place in Cesena Fiera from 26th-28th September 2012. On Tuesday 25th September the same venue will host the International Strawberry Meeting, an international conference entirely dedicated to strawberries.
