Ecuador: Banana producers are seeking strategies

The new Board of the National Federation of Ecuador`s Banana Growers (Fenaprope) wants to strengthen the farmers organization and to do this it is preparing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).

Rafael Torres, newly elected president of Fenaprope says that like any institution, it is a priority to have a mission and vision, set objectives and corporate policies, and to do this they meet in work groups, with the delegates of the agricultural associations that are part of the Federation.

The preparation of the Annual Operating Plan has Solanda Caprera`s guidance, which also seeks to reach agreements with universities, so that senior students share technical experience with producers, said Torres while announcing the hiring of an accountant so that after she finishes getting everything into place in the Plant Growers Federation, permanently takes the accounts of branch associations.

Ricardo Zambrano, Secretary of Agriculture, was pleased on how the Board is trying to handle the situation.
