The Chilean fresh fruit exports recorded a slight drop of 1.1% compared to the volume exported during the same period of 2011, according to the report on commercial and production dynamics of August 2012 from the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies of Chile (ODEPA).
So far, oranges have increased export volumes by 97%, but have exported only a little over 10% of its annual volume.
"Avocados have risen by 50%, waiting for the new season, while mandarins have increased by 34.4%, already having exported more than 50% of its annual volume," the report read.
Kiwis have shown a 11.8% increase in exports, while lemons increased 4.6%, making almost half of its annual shipments.
"Plums, like pears, have had a good year, with growths of 3.8% and 3.5% respectively," indicates ODEPA.
