Spain: Semillas Fitó updates zucchini catalogue with Atlantis and Laria.

Semillas Fitó is a Spanish agricultural company that is active in the courgette market. It is always looking for new quality varieties. It takes into account profitability, market demands as well as the customer’s taste. Semillas Fitó substantiates its activities by a strong belief in what the Spanish call ‘I+D+I’ (Investigación, desarrollo e innovación, or investment, development and innovation).

This year it introduced the Atlantis, a new dark green variety of courgette. The Atlantis excels in quality and high production capacity.

The Atlantis is best sown in October, November and December. The plant handles itself quite well in freezing conditions. The vegetable’s postharvest offers good prospects for Almeria greenhouses.

The second new addition to the company’s catalogue is the Laria. The Laria is popular on markets in Murcia, but in France as well. It meets all the quality demands, and also lends itself to high production and a good postharvest. In Murcia it can be planted from March to September.
