Spain: Webrta Mediterránea starts online citrus sales

The fruit on-line shopping has arrived and, because of this Webrta Mediterranea, a Spanish company operated by a group of farmers, is ready to start selling its citrus stone fruit and vegetables online.

The aim is to connect the main participants of the fresh produce supply chain - grower and consumer.

All trays and fruit gifts are fresh-picked from the orchards in Valencia and Castellón, the birth place of citrus for fresh consumption.

Susana Malena, from Webrta Mediterranea, says, "The fruit is juicy and loaded with flavour. They are all carefully hand picked and packaged in our attractive, sturdy gift cartons."

Susana refers to Webrta Mediterranea's fresh fruit baskets and trays, which are intended to make purchases suitable for the gift market.

Aside from the gift sector clients include universities, the public sector, and the catering trade.

Webrta Mediterránea says the company's service is all about adding value, via reduced delivery time and, therefore, freshness. Susana says, "The fruit is on the table within 24 hours of order."

"Our way of working is cultivation under polytunnels, choosing the best varieties to plant in the right area, grown by professional farmers who have been years of experience with their product."

The company is starting with the sale of clementine from around 23rd September and Susana says the quality is looking very good at the moment.

All Webrta Mediterránea farms are Global Gap certified including handling.
