Malawi: Eco Products looking for partners

Eco Products Limited (based in Malawi) is an experienced company involved in growing, processing and selling dry spices for local and export markets.

Eco Products wants to diversify and foresees a growing market (in Malawi, surrounding countries and Europe) for organic grown fresh products and wants to invest in new production facilities; an out growers programme and processing facilities for the export market.

The company has available a plot of 50ha and wants to start a horticultural project for growing organic products like fresh spices, cucumbers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, water melons and other marketable products.

Eco Product Ltd. is searching for a partner who:

  • distributes organic fresh products in the European market;
  • wants to transfer knowledge and share experiences with organic farming to Eco Products and the out growers, to grow products that meet international standards (including the right certification);
  • attaches a great deal of value to Corporate Social Responsibility in doing business. The kind of out grower scheme will bring alternative income to the unemployed in rural areas.
  • is preferably interested in jointly investing with Eco Products in setting up a modern processing facility. Grant money might be available for such a joint project;
The owner of the Malawian company is coming to the Netherlands in the fourth quarter of 2012 and would like to get in touch with potential partners.
