Urbinati Open Day 2012: two days of free training and technical courses with field’s experts

The Italian industrial group Urbinati - a reference on the Italian horticulture’s market - is pleased to invite you to Open Day 2012 that will take place in San Mauro Pascoli (FC - Italy) on 28th and 29th September 2012. You will have the chance to see in preview the new 2013 products and take part free in the Urbinati Academy, two amazing days of training courses and technical updates about the most important issues related to the nursery technologies.



The conferences and training courses will be held by International Experts and Professors of the Turin University.

Schedule and topics

Friday September 28th
Two conferences in Italian and English managed by experts of important field companies. Each section lasting 90 minutes and followed by a question and answer session.
  • Grafting and Irrigation technology. Speaker: Israeli Expert.
  • Clean Light technology to protect the crops without chemical product. Speaker: Clean Light Holland.
Saturday September 29th
Two sessions lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes in Italian and English, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The interventions will be managed by field experts and professors of the University of Turin and University of Padua under the auspices of the Faculty of Agriculture and the scientific-technical coordination of the Horticulture’s group of Turin’s University. Each part will last about 20 minutes, followed by a space for questions and answers.

At the end of the training you will receive a certificate of participation.
  • General overview of current issues in the field of horticultural nurseries in Italy and in international market: new market’s opportunities. Speaker: Silvana Nicola, Professor, University of Turin
  • Types of vegetable seeds, multiseeds, certification, new species and issues. Speaker: Alberto Veronesi, Enza Zaden Italy
  • Physical and chemical properties of substrates alternative to peat, retrieval and potential applicability. Speaker: Paolo Sambo, Professor University of Padua
  • Fertilization and soluble fertilizers in the specialist nursery. Speaker: Pierfranco Baraglia, Green Has Italy
  • Mycorrhization and inoculation of antagonists in the nursery phase. Speaker: Luigi Tiradani, Mybatec
  • Applications of new substrates in horticulture. Speaker: Paolo Zanin, Professor University of Padua
