Sweden: 3D banana display boosts Chiquita sales
Patrik Carlsson, Brand Manager at Chiquita says the stand was tailor made for the store. "There was a pillar space available so a stand was designed just for that spot."
However, this does not mean that there will not be other, similar stands, as Patrik explains.
"There will be more in Sweden, but they will have to be adapted as this stand was tailor made for that position in that particular store."
The 3D stand was quick to demonstrate its benefits, when the store saw an increase in sales of fresh produce by around 20%.
"We wanted to create a nice atmosphere," said Patrik, "with nice music, something that makes people pay attention. This stand makes people stop and engage with the product and they stay longer than they would do at a conventional exhibition."
Interestingly since the stands arrival it is not only the Chiquita products from the 3D stands that have experienced the 20% boost in sales, but other fresh fruit and vegetable items also.
"Moving the banana and pineapple display to the pillar where the stand was constructed freed up more space in the produce area," says Patrik. "This provided a better layout for the whole fruit and vegetable section and drove sales for the sector as a whole."
