Magnus Kahl Seeds to promote their new range of seed Shallots and Echalions

Seed shallot growers to have new variety options for the first time in 18 years!

Intermediate and Long day shallot seed supply has been dominated by one company for the past 18 years. Growers now have options available to them other than the varieties currently promoted in the marketplace.

Magnus Kahl Seeds is a privately owned company focused on the breeding, production and sales of hybrid onion and shallot varieties. In the past 12 years, Magnus Kahl Seeds has developed a range of seed shallots and echalions for the commercial producer. The varieties will offer competition to the current shallot seed range being supplied to growers around the world.

Red Legion and F1 Bastion varieties

The range consists of MK Seed's existing echalion variety Roderique (which competes directly with the Zebrune echalion) and a new variety called Red Legion. The echalion varieties are now being supported in the product line up by new round and elongated seed shallot varieties called F1 Nero, F1 Bastion, F1 Frederique and F1 Monique.

Magnus Kahl Seeds is aiming to provide seed shallot growers with premium shallot seed at very competitive prices. The company is excited about the opportunities that exist in this area of the allium seed market and welcome enquiries about the products.
