Israeli Medjoul dates are again available at Special Fruit and will be available till February. "At the moment volumes are still small, but we expect to receive sufficient fresh dates in various sizes regularly with effect from 10 September," buyer Veerle Baets explains.
She mentions that each year the imported volume increases. "Our most important buyers are wholesalers. In order to supply supermarkets directly in addition to wholesalers we approach this group with special small packings."
"The variety of our dates is Medjoul. This variety is known for the following characteristics: juicy and not too sweet. In addition the fruit is aromatically tasty and a source of essential food fibre. Our clients know very well that with these dates we are in a position to supply a very good quality. The dates are marketed under the brand 'King Solomon Dates'."
