Italy: La Trentina Inaugurates a new SFT storage facility, South of Trento

At La Trentina Group, a new storage facility was inaugurated on August 4th. It's a fully automated facility, able to process up to 50,000 tons of apples, always ensuring a complete traceability.

The new facility is built of 72 ULO (ultra low oxygen) cells for a storing capacity of more than 23,000 tons of apples. It has been realized by Fruit Control Equipments.

The level of technology is edge cutting for the sector: 50 cells are working with the Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere system (DCA), known as Swinglos by Fruit Control. Armando Paoli, director at the plant, is proud to announce that this is the first facility with so many DCA cells for a modern and environment friendly system that avoids post harvest treatments.
