Italy: Melinda 2012 apple harvest forecast to be 15% lower

The 2012 apple harvest season has started at the Melinda Consortium. They have started with Gala, which is already being sold at "Mondomelinda", the company factory store. In September the harvest of the remaining varieties will follow: Renetta Canada, Red Delicious and finally Fuji.
 
The Gala harvest is forecast to be 21% lower than 2011 due to early May's frosts. In the Valle del Noce (Trentino) area the harvest of every variety is forecast to be lower, -15% overall (Red Delicious -48%, Canada -36%, Fuji -27%, Golden -8%).
