1 million reflectors washed

Lightshine Cleaning meet a market need

The cleaning of lighting installations is starting to become more and more important in present day agriculture. After it was established by research that the intensity of the reflectors could decrease rather markedly over a few years the replacement or the cleaning of the reflectors became more a subject of discussion all the time. Lightshine Cleaning anticipated this need by developing an installation which to a large extent automated the cleaning of the reflectors. And with success. Marcel and Jeffrey van den Bogert are fully occupied and have in the meantime cleaned a million reflectors. A milestone.

Lightshine Cleaning have started using a second mobile wash installation in the last few weeks. With the new installation, which is placed behind a small lorry, the company can meet the continuously increasing demand from growers to clean lighting installations. "The second wash combination is a step forward in our company activities," Jeffrey explains whilst washing at tomato grower G.J.van der Wel in 's-Gravenzande. "With the new mobile wash lorry we anticipate the demand from abroad. There is a need for our service in Scandinavia, England and France. With the new lorry it is also more practical to go on board a ship.

On the premises of Van der Wel, Lightshine Cleaning is busy cleaning the reflectors for the second time. Mario van der Wel explains that he finds the maintenance of his lighting installation of great importance. "This lighting installation has been on our premises for about six years. Measurements show that the reflectors are so dirty after four years that it became economical to have then cleaned. It is a nice feeling to start a new cultivation with clean reflectors. Light and energy are used to the maximum. Therefore we chose to have the reflectors checked for dirt every year. That made us decide to have them washed again this year. Maintenance is preservation!"

Marcel van de Bogert says that Lightshine Cleaning still have more plans for the future. "Also we have good contacts with suppliers as for instance Raymax. We support each other and where necessary anticipate each others requirements."
