Chile to double its berry sales to South Korea

During the last years, South Korea has grown to one of the most dynamic import markets for foods from Chile, especially when it comes to berries. No export product has performed quite so well in the last decennial, and in May of this year more berries have been shipped to the Asian country than in the total of 2011.

Total export of food stuffs from Chile to Korea yielded USD 358 million last year. At the end of the last decennial this number was a meagre USD 2.6 million. By 2005, it had already expanded to USD 134 million.

To Chile, Korea is one of the Asian markets with the most promise for future expansion, according to Chilean officials.
