Double gold status for the Cutting-peeler KP-60/HS
Hundredth peeler for the Australian Reactive Engineering Pty. Ltd.
If something leads to success, it often comes through a partnership. The proud result of the partnership between the German Hepro and Sormac is the production of the hundredth cutting peeler KP-60/HS. This was supplied in the summer of 2012 to the Australian Reactive Engineering Pty. Ltd. A striking detail with this mile-stone is that the fiftieth cutting peeler was also produced for this Australian business. The KP-60/HS from Sormac is not only a high-quality and trustworthy product, it leads to satisfied faces from the Dutch polder to Deep Down Under.
“The KP-60/HS is now the expert when it comes to peeling carrots," according the Sormac Director Bert Haffmans. "Our partner Hepro primarily specialises in peeling machines for asparagus, but after an intensive partnership with our company, the KP-60/HS was modified in 2006 so it could also peel carrots. This machine can be combined with other machines from our Sormac-programme. Due to our impressive worldwide purchasing network, it is only natural that we have become a success."
Gold
Sormac has been able to supply these peeling machines over the entire world which has led to a double gold status: "We are proud of our product because the cutting-peeling of carrots with our peeling machine offers a clear amount of advantages. Aside from the fact that the waste percentage is low and the peelings are dry, which means they are easy to dispose of, the appearance of the cut-peeled carrots is very appealing. The peeled surface is smooth and looks like it has been hand peeled. The smooth surface means that the whitening sensitivity is very low."
Interesting advantages
The carrot processors worldwide have clearly not been been asleep and have taken action. They also see the advantages and choose for the KP-60/HS. "Yes, that's true," continues Haffmans. "Sormac has also played a part of incorporating this machine into an almost fully automatic line. What's more, the supply, orientation, peeling, de-heading and chopping is all done with the help of the Sormac-machines. The capacity is very high and depending on the quality of the raw material, a net of 700 to 800 kg per hour can be achieved which makes the KP-60/HS very interesting to a wide range of users."
Triple gold
It is clear the this success story is not yet finished. After the golden status in 2009 and the double golden status in 2012, Sormac is staying alert and continues to constantly searching for innovations. Haffmans closes: "We will continue to modernise and to shape our machines in a more efficient manner. This is how we stay ahead of the competition and can continue to provide top quality. In our new Technicum we will be performing tests, trials and demonstrations which we carry out to meet the increasing demands on performance and handling of the machines and materials we use. This is why I am sure that the 150th KP-60/HS will be produced in the foreseeable future for one of our clients. Whether or not this client will be located in Australia is something I can't guarantee. Just because we received double gold at Sormac doesn't mean that we can sit back and relax. We continue to focus on the future for our clients who are located around the world!" On the way to triple gold.
