expansion of facilities almost complete

Ireland: Meade Potato Company celebrates National Potato Day

In the midst of expansion activities this month, Meade Potato Company are taking time out to celebrate two core elements of their business, the potato and their organic range. MEP Mairead McGuinness got into the spirit of National Potato Day on Saturday, Aug. 25 by helping to prepare hampers to be given away on LMFM radio and at Neven Maguire’s ever-popular cooking demonstrations held in the run up to National Potato Day, while Shane McEntee TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine will visit their farm to examine the current challenges facing potato growers.

National Organic Week, starting on Monday, Sept. 10, will see Meade Potato Company teaming up with some of their retail partners to offer various promotions for the organic market. In response to consumer trends, their organic business has grown substantially over the past 10 years; they are now established as one of the leading organic suppliers to the retail sector.

Having outgrown existing office and warehouse space, Meade Potato Company prepares to move part of their operations into their new temperature controlled state of the art 50,000 sq. ft. factory and office space, now in the final stages of completion. In addition to expanding on their rapidly developing current business, they can now offer the complete package of growing, packing, storage and distribution to any perspective supermarket chains/suppliers in Ireland, UK, and Europe.

“Supporting our increased warehousing and packing facilities is a solid foundation of efficient supply chain and logistical expertise. We are now in a position to seek a European/global partner to market and distribute our fresh produce to Ireland, UK and Europe. Between our state of the art facilities and our proven track record, we are primed and ready for business,” comments Commercial Director Patrick Meade.
