US (CA): Talley Farms to launch Fresh Harvest program

Talley Vineyards and Talley Farms invite the public to their New Release Event for the new Fresh Harvest program on August 25, 2012, from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at Talley Vineyards in Arroyo Grande. The Talley Farms Fresh Harvest program gives Central Coast consumers the convenience of enjoying farm fresh produce while supporting local farmers. This release event is unique in that it showcases offerings from the Talley operations together in one venue.

“We thought it would be fun to have the official release date of our new program coincide with the release of Talley Vineyards 2010 single vineyard Pinot Noirs. What could be better than a day of good food and good wine?” said Andrea Chavez, Manager of Talley Farms Fresh Harvest.

Talley Vineyards is celebrating over 25 years as one of the most respected wineries in the nation at the New Release Event. Talley Vineyards will be pouring complimentary tastings of Bishops Peak Sauvignon Blanc and their Bishops Peak Red Wine blend to event participants. Talley Vineyards will also be offering tastings of their highly anticipated 2010 Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs for $15 per person, $10 for wine club members.

At the event, Talley Farms will be officially launching their Fresh Harvest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) produce program. The benefits of Fresh Harvest include the convenience of having quality local produce delivered to a Farm Supply or Miner’s Ace Hardware store near consumers. Talley Farms recently expanded pick up locations to include Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab in Orcutt and Wayne’s Tire Showroom in Santa Maria. Talley Farms and the Talley family have been growing, packing, and shipping a variety of vegetables throughout the United States and Canada since 1948. Talley Vineyards, Talley Farms, and Talley Farms Fresh Harvest are all owned and operated by third generation Talley family members.

“This event is a celebration of the Central Coast. We have the opportunity to eat and drink what grows in our own backyard, a tradition that the Talley family has continued for over 60 years,” said Chavez.

Attendees of the New Release event will enjoy live music, free wine tasting, and a chance to win a free month of Fresh Harvest. Appetizers full of Fresh Harvest produce will be provided at the event, along with other food available for purchase.
