Enza Zaden as multilocal at Asia Fruit Logistica

Vegetable breeding company Enza Zaden will exhibit at Asia Fruit Logistica 2012, to be held on 5-7 September, with the theme "the power of local breeding, the power of Enza Zaden." In other words, varieties and products tailored to the local wishes and local growing conditions of regions throughout the world. The range presented at the Enza Zaden stand will, the company says, be more varied than ever before.

Ruud Berkvens, Area Manager South East Asia: "We are extremely proud of our extensive range of Asian products bred in and specifically for Asia. At our stand we look forward to presenting products with which growers can stand out from the competition in the enormous vegetable market. Examples include blocky sweet peppers with high fruit quality, mini sweet conicals, classic Chinese cucumbers and Asian cherry tomatoes."

Hydroponics
The stand will also spotlight the lettuce varieties for the hydroponic lettuce growing system. This presentation drew big crowds last year, and an even more extensive range will be on display this year. Enza Zaden has a whole range of lettuce varieties suitable for growing on water.

Hydroponic lettuce production is a large scale, commonly used production method in Asia, particularly due to the demand for food safety. Guaranteeing food safety is seen by the Asian supermarket companies and wholesale markets as an increasingly important strategy for achieving market distinction. The use of hydroponic crops will therefore continue to grow.

Personal meeting
Besides presenting the product range, sales representatives from the various Asian countries hope to speak with visitors one-on-one. Berkvens says, "A personal meeting at the trade fair is an excellent opportunity to hold a face-to-face discussion. We can explore what both parties can do for each other and how we can achieve added value for the product. This forms the basis for new product concepts, fully tailored to our customers' wishes."

The Asia Fruit Logistica will take place this year from 5 to 7 September at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. Enza Zaden will be located at stand number 2I-20.
