Peru: Grape export on the rise

During the 2011-2012 campaign, demand for table grapes has gone up by US$ 328 million, marking a 45% increase. This is according to the board of Agronegocios of the Ministry of Agriculture. Specialists of the ministry state export numbers correspond to the increased harvest in regions like Ica, Piura and Lambayeque.

Primary markets for the Peruvian grapes are the US, with a market share of 26%, followed by Holland (16%), Hong Kong (11%), Russia (10%) and China (6%).
