Andalusia's organic businesses up 21.79%
Spain: Organic production increasing
The number of companies with organic production has increased by 21.79% in 2011, with 967 activities taking place compared to the 794 in 2010.
As reported by Andalusia's Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment Council, the great majority of these businesses are in the provinces of Seville, with 171 industries, Granada, with 165 and Cordoba with 150.
Among these businesses, the Region's government highlights the ones devoted to the production and packing of fresh agricultural products is 174 compared to 143 last year, which have increased by 21.8% compared to 2010. The greater part of these activities takes place in the provinces of Almeria (43), Malaga (34) and Seville (24).
