Mexico has grown into the largest supplier of fruit and vegetables to the United States, thanks to heavy investments and the stimulation of the country’s agricultural industry. This according to director-general of the Fideicomiso de Riesgo Compartido (FIRCO), Rodrigo Diez De Sollano Elcoro
De Sollano Elcoro states that FIRCO has stimulated over 400 agricultural business projects in Nayarit during the last six years. Its general goal was to generate added value to different crops of fresh produce. The federal government, with backing from the country’s ministry of agriculture, has invested over 4 billion Pesos in the project.
