Italy: Harvest early processing tomatoes Albarossa F1 by Cora Seeds started

Last 25th July 2012, in the Italian region Emilia Romagna, the harvest of a very early processing tomato variety started. These tomatoes have been developed by Cora Seeds and they are called Albarossa F1.

As the Cora Seeds experts explain: "This has not been the best season for early crops. First, it was cold in April and May, with some frosts during the transplanting phase. Then, since June, some heat waves, with temperatures up to 35-40°C have affected the tomatoes' size".

Despite the climatic conditions, Albarossa F1 appears to be one of the most interesting varieties for early harvests, since its cycle lasts 90-95 days. Albarossa F1 shows an excellent production (over 7 tons/hectare on average), is very tolerant to top rot and its size is about 70 gr, with a sugar content around 5.5° Brix.
