UK: Limseeds invests in the future
market requirements.
Gijnlim should be planted in fertile soil and combined with well-balanced water management to exploit its potential to the full. Good water management is particularly
important during foliage growth, when the plant needs enough water to ensure efficient photosynthesis. During this process the plant is generating the energy it needs to produce optimally in the next harvesting season. The soil type in which Gijnlim is grown also determines the planting distance you should observe. Allow 10 inches in the row in fertile soils, and slightly more - say 12 inches - in sandy, less fertile soils.
Despite the fact that Gijnlim has proved itself to be a reliable partner in asparagus growing year after year, Limseeds is working on developing new varieties that also meet the needs of the asparagus growers, traders and consumers. Limseeds has been running intensive trials on English asparagus farms for a number of years in order to develop varieties that thrive in local conditions. The main quality characteristics are a good, closed tip in combination with uniform grades of outstanding quality. Besides these visual characteristics, we also pay attention to aspects such as flavour, earliness and life span.
