Peruvian mango exports to Japan would double in two years

Peruvian mango exports to Japan will double in the season November 2013 - March 2014 regarding the current
shipments to that country, which reaches 600 tons, estimated the Peruvian Association of Mango Exporters (EMPA).

President of APEM, Juan Rivera, said that mango shipments to Japan have increased dramatically since they began exporting two years ago, when only three containers of 20 tons were sent.

"Our exports to Japan are still in small volumes because we entered the market recently, but hopefully in the next two seasons we could get to export 1,200 tons," he told Andina news agency.
