Macfrut 2012 features PGI products and foreign fruit and vegetable markets

Few months before the start of its 29th edition, Macfrut – the show focused on the fruit and vegetable sector scheduled in Cesena (Italy) from 26th to 28th September 2012 – announces significant novelties in its exhibition offer. Among these, the presence of stands dedicated to PDO and PGI products and the participation of important fruit and vegetable markets from Eastern Europe.

(Cesena, 11th July 2012) Thanks to exhibition areas and conferences focused on the main novelties and topics of the industry, Macfrut – scheduled in Cesena (Italy) from 26th to 28th September – provides a perfect occasion for encounters and exchanges to fruit and vegetable operators, from those dealing with production and trade to those engaged in logistics, packaging, machinery and distribution. Few months before its opening, the event holds important novelties to amaze its visitors with an exhibition offer that is unique in its kind.

A qualifying feature of Macfrut 2012 will be the participation of the main associations protecting PDO and PGI products, which will offer their specialties to a host of buyers and trade visitors from all over the world. Moreover, the marked international character of the show, proven by the attendance of more than 80 foreign delegations in 2011, will be further enhanced in 2012 thanks to the presence of exhibitors from several foreign fruit and vegetable markets, especially from Eastern Europe (Serbia, Croatia and Poland). Other European countries will also attend, such as France, which will join the show with a collective stand and companies representing the national fruit and vegetable sector.

“The 2012 novelties will allow us to fully achieve Macfrut’s main goal”, Domenico Scarpellini, President of Cesena Fiera, said. “Namely, acting as a bridge between supply and offer, between Italy and the world, providing occasions for encounters and supporting the companies in carrying out their business in this sector”.

The 29th edition of Macfrut will be held in Cesena (Italia) from 26th to 28th September 2012. Find out more on www.macfrut.com.
