On the whole, it was a little too cool and dry for the asparagus, which meant that the record harvest of 2011 could quite be met.

Asparagus were loved again in 2012, especially when they were from this region. The consumption per capita in Germany was between 1.5 kg and 2 kg. The asparagus price for growers during the whole season was satisfactory.
