“The recent strawberry campaign had a positive trend in Romagna thanks to a delay in the European production. In the Southern Italy, although they invested a lot to improve the quality of the products, the results were below expectations,” Ilenio Bastoni, director of Mediterraneo Group, says.
“As for cherry, the market was very positive, sale prices were interesting for the whole marketing campaign.”
“Hot weather has delayed the harvest of peaches and nectarines in Romagna and has affected their size, but it has favoured the quality of fruits as well as the trend of consumption. Positive aspects for sales in the second part of the season.”
“As for apricots, we noticed a rise in consumption and the chance to trade to new markets. About ten days ago the plum season started and at the moment demand is good.”
