Ukraine: Minister wants to build 500 ha of greenhouses

The Ukraine needs 500 hectares of green houses before the country no longer needs to rely on imported greenhouse vegetables. This is according to the Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture, Mykola Bezuhily. "We could substantially reduce the import of greenhouse vegetables if we built 500 hectares of greenhouses. We started construction last year and the first 44 hectares are ready."

"We expect that within three to four years we will have progressed to be an established export country for vegetables," said the minister.
