Uzbekistan exported 226,000 tons of fruit plus 147,000 tons of grapes

Most fruit, vegetablesand melons grown in Uzbekistan are exported to Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates, USA, Korea,Turkey and CIS countries.

In recent years, the agriculture in the country increased almost fourfold for allfruit excluding which more than doubled.

After extensive improvements fromlast Autumn up to this spring of fruit areas and vineyards by local farmersthere are now 244,000ha of fruit and 127 ha of vineyards.

To create new growing areas using intensivecultivation technologies in 2011, Ukraine delivered 400,000 rootstocks and plant stalks for the grafting of small and medium growing trees. Those yielded nearly900,000 seedlings, 400,000 of which were shipped to Uzbekhistan, followed by500,000 seedlings this Autumn. Due to extremely high demand for the creation of orchards, 250 000 rootstocks were imported this year.
