Lambayeque's exports of frozen mango recorded an increase of 15% in the first four months of the year compared to the same period of 2011, totaling 2,700 tons (USD 4.83 million), reports the Regional Association of Exporters (Arex).
The data pointed out that from January to April 2,700 tons of frozen mango were exported for an amount of USD 4.82 million.
The representative of AREX, Carlos Ypanaqué Estrada, said that the main destinations for this product were: the United States (67%), the United Kingdom (9.28%), Canada (8.06%), Belgium (6.65%), and together, countries such as Netherlands, Germany, Chile and Puerto Rico accounted for 8.93% of exports of this northern region.
He said that the leading exporter of frozen mango is Processing Peru SAC, which in the last 5 years has been leading exports of this product.
