US: Consumers send Sweet Georgia Peaches, virtually

Consumers can now send a virtual Georgia Peach through a unique Facebook application created on behalf of the Georgia Peach Council.

The recently released application was created by the Atlanta, Georgia office of integrated marketing agency iris Worldwide.

"The ability to share a peach with a friend on Facebook seemed to be the perfect way to send sweetness to the masses," said Simon Candy, creative director at iris Worldwide's Atlanta office. "As a Preferred Marketing Developer for Facebook, we have been able to utilize our ability to develop innovative social media applications and create a campaign that enables consumers to share their love for Georgia Peaches with friends and family."

Duke Lane, III, chairman of the Georgia Peach Council adds: "Georgia Peaches evoke a cheerful, summertime feel and our Facebook application fits perfectly into the whimsical campaign we've created this season through advertising, public relations and social media. The application allows anyone, no mater where they live, to share a Georgia Peach and brighten that person's day."

Sweet Georgia Peaches are being sent daily through the Georgia Peach Council's Facebook page, which is available by clicking here.
