The Dominican Republic occupies the top spots on banana exports to the United Kingdom, reported the newspaper Listin Diario.
This was stated by the representative of the Department of Commercial Research Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), Euclides Paulino in the talk "Production, consumption and export of fruits and vegetables," held in the last Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode).
Paulino said that the Dominican Republic dominates the top spots on banana exports to the UK.
For fair trade expert Funglode, Marco Coscione, the Dominican Republic has critical elements that must be improved, such as difficulties in finding new markets, poor control over the destiny, the complication of access to concessional loans and insufficient support from state institutions, among others.
