Italy: Pizzoli is investing in new plant and European trade

Pizzoli, the Italian potato product company, whose market share is about 23%, is going to open a new technological plant and will trade in the European market in order to increase its export share, which, at the moment, is about 1%.

Pizzoli was not damaged by the earthquake devastating Emilia and has started some investments. They are designing a new plant in Budrio, where the company has its headquarters. With this new plant they will have four production sites.

In the meantime, Pizzoli will try to enter the South European market and in the Mediterranean Basin, as currently they only export to Asia, in particular in Japan.

Ennio Pizzoli is the president of the company and he has just received an award in Edinburgh, at the World Potato Congress, the most important international meeting of the sector.
