Mexico: High demand for cherry tomatoes in the U.S.

This is a good time for cherry tomatoes in the U.S. market. In May, the export season for Mexican cherry tomatoes to the U.S started and as an exporter explains, "The demand for cherry tomatoes in the U.S. is very good, while demand is greater than the volume we have to offer."

Exporters are not surprised by the high demand for their product because both May and June are two months of the year in which demand is greater for cherry tomatoes in the American market. In August it is expected that export volumes will decrease and increase again in October, the end of the season.

In the producing region in Mexico's Baja California Norte, weather conditions are ideal for the cherry tomato plantation, which is favouring producers and exporters with high quality products.
