The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) is delighted to announce the following new appointments to the FPC Council for a two-year term:
  • Andy Garton of Morrisons
  • Nigel Harris of Fresh Direct
  • Gillian Kynoch of Albert Bartlett.

The appointment of Jim Rogers as President for 2012/13 was approved at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 14 June. Simon Martin and Nigel Harris agreed to act as joint Vice President for 2012/13.

The following Council directors were re-elected for a further term of two years:
  • Chris Hutchinson
  • Richard Thompson
  • Michael Velasco
  • Nigel Jenney.
Co-opted directors elected by the Council to stand for a further year are: Richard Brighton, Anthony Levy and Jim Jefcoate.

"I am delighted to have such a strong and dedicated team on the FPC Council," said Jim Rogers, FPC President. "We welcome our new directors to the Council and look forward to having the benefit of their valuable contribution to the work of FPC."

"We are committed to provide the highest level of support to our membership and the FPC Council plays a vital role in steering our activities. FPC will continue to fight the industry’s corner by challenging any unnecessary regulations and provide a professional, efficient, value for money service to our members," said Nigel Jenney, Chief Executive Officer of FPC.

The Council paid tribute to two long-standing directors who had decided to stand down at the Annual General Meeting:
  • Adrian Barlow, formerly Vice President of FPC;
  • Hans van Zetten, former Chairman of the Importers Association, who successfully saw the Association through its transition to the FPC in 1992.

"Both Adrian and Hans have been valued directors of the FPC Council and we are grateful to them for their commitment and contribution over many years. We wish them every success for the future," said Jim Rogers.
