US (WA): Growers say cold weather is slowing crop growth
Organizers say cherries and apricots have been doing well this year.
Most growers have not had problems selling fresh fruit and produce at the market, but with the cooler evenings the area lately some growers have seen their crops take a little longer to grow.
"We need some warm weather at night time to grow the vegetables and it's been so cold. And, so it's not growing fast enough that we were really expecting," Alma Dagdagan, owner of Dagdagan Farm & Produce in Wapato.
Dagdagan hopes temperatures will improve soon for growers. She expects to have corn ready at her farm by the Fourth of July.
