Euro Pool expands

Europool will extend its location in the German Roisdorf. From the beginning of 2013 more fruit and vegetables crates will be transferred here than before. Now 40 million transport boxes per year will be washed, dried, and transferred here. Besides this the logistics for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Scandinavia will be controlled here.

Up until now the company has rented a hall on the grounds of the German sales organisation Landgard. But this was becoming too small for the company, so they bought 33,000 square meters of land right behind the Landgard grounds. "We think it's important to stay close, because with Landgard, and the companies Fruchtkontor West, Spedition Vendel, and ourselves, Roisdorf is Germany's biggest centre for fresh wares", says Kurt Jäger, Europool's company leader.

The company is investing around 20 million Euro in its new service centre, of which the new washing system alone will cost six million Euro. The 25 employees that worked in the old hall, will be able to control the larger but automatic installation. 35 new logistic employees will also be hired.
