Pear stock same as 2010

Dutch apple stock higher that last year

In comparison with last year around this time, the top fruit stock is higher. The Dutch apple and pear stock on June 1, 2012 is, according to Productschap Tuinbouw, at 59,000 tons and 21,000 tons respectively. The apple stock when compared with June last year is 63% higher and the pear stock almost 17% higher. The stock of apples consists for the most part of Jonagold (14,000 tonnes) and then comes Elstar (8,000 tonnes), Golden Delicious (3,000 tonnes). As for pears the only stock is Conference, (21,000 tonnes).
