Sean Harrison of Satori Holland
"Increasing number of suppliers of limes disturbs the market"
The price of limes are between 6 and 7 Euro at the moment. According to Sean Harrison of Satori Holland many suppliers try to put prices higher, but this is not easy for the time being. "The demand for limes is increasing, but for now more suppliers have entered the market. It is not easy for the traditional importers, who receive their fixed programs every week, to defend their suppliers, when there are more dealers than the market can handle."
Mexican Limes 'Santa Margarita' and Brazilian Limes 'La Morena'
Satori Holland receive limes from Mexico and Brazil every week. "The Brazilian supply arrives all year round. The Mexican season started in February and is now in full swing. The supply of Mexican limes is often dependent on the American market, but that export has been reasonably divided between the United States and Europe" the importer says.
"Our volumes remain just about the same from year to year. We have been importing limes for more than fifteen years with our Santa Margarita brand from Mexico and La Morena from Brazil. There were some quality problems in the market recently with limes from Brazil and Mexico, but we did not have any problems with that. Our clients know how to appreciate the quality of our limes." Sean says. Satori Holland distribute the limes all over Europe. "The demand comes from all over the place. Only in the United Kingdom the prices are a little lower at the moment."
