Gianranco GuerriniCurrently, the main export destinations for citrus, are England, Ireland, Italy, Holland, the U.S. and Canada are the main markets while for
avocados the United States, Holland, England, Poland and Spain are the main markets.
"This year we have obtained certifications in the packing for the export of avocados to the U.S. and for export of organic products, which will generate a greater chance of entering new markets." said Guerrini. In terms of new markets, Gianfranco Guerrini said: "In the short term we would like to enter Central America and South America, since they are stable markets and have interest in our fruit. Entry into these new markets would
generate a great benefit as it would expand our bargaining power with the products we offer."
Avocados in the packing houseThe company expects to continue increasing its number of exported containers. In 2011 they reached 123 containers of citrus and 73 of avocado. For this year they have projected an increase to 235 containers of citrus and 40 of avocado. In the U.S. and Canada we can find Procesadora Torre Blanca's fruit in recognized supermarkets such as WalMart and Costco, while in Europe importers place the fruit in retail markets and supermarkets such as Sainsbury, M&S, Waitrose and Tesco. Guerrini says that for this campaign, the main threats are the devaluation of the Euro, the appreciation of the sol and limited manpower. Referring to the devaluation of the Euro which shows a devaluation of 10% compared to 2011, Gianfranco says that despite the international price being good for both citrus and avocados and obtaining a positive projection at the end of the campaign, will be affected by the devaluation of the Euro (10%) because their main customers work with this currency.
