"US: Ready Pac announces "Lunch is On Us!" contest winner"

In launching its new social media campaign last month, Ready Pac Foods, Inc. made great strides in engaging its consumers. The "Lunch is On Us" online contest helped boost its fan base and increased the amount of "likes" on its Facebook page by over 3,000. It also helped increase its Twitter followers by nearly 50 percent.

The Bistro-Bowl-a-Day giveaway winners were announced daily on the Ready Pac Facebook page and via email. Winners came from twelve different states and more than 600 entries were received.

Grand prize winner, Thelma from Harbor City, CA, received a coupon book valid for Ready Pac Bistro Bowl salads for a Year (two per week, 104 total Bistro Bowls).

"We were thrilled by the response we received from our consumers and it allowed us to invite them to try new, healthy products through coupons and contests," said Tristan Simpson, director of marketing at Ready Pac. "Social media has given us a new way to connect with our fans and they were also connecting with one another through the contest." Simpson says that "consumers were encouraging each other every day and sharing with their friends who the winners were."

With fewer than 300 calories each, Ready Pac Bistro Bowls offer a variety of fresh salads throughout the year. Currently available in the Bistro Bowl line are Chicken Caesar, Chef, Cranberry Walnut, Italiano, Santa Fe Style Caesar, Smokehouse BBQ, Spinach Dijon and Turkey & Bacon Cobb. Most recently the company launched three new varieties: Asian Style, Caesar Lite and Mediterranean each with fewer than 230 calories. All Bistro Bowls are ready to eat and include both a single serving of dressing and a fork, making it easy for consumers to take the salads on-the-go.

The contest was promoted on the company’s website, Facebook and Twitter. Daily winners and the grand prize winner were selected at random and given coupons good for Ready Pac Bistro Bowls.
