Switzerland: strong decline in vegetable stock

The supply of stored vegetables in Switzerland has decreased greatly in the past 30 days, says the German website Gabot.de. The decrease was 14,412 tonnes, according to the most recent stock measurement by the 'Schweizerische Zentralstelle für Gemüsebau' (SZG). In total there was 10,810 tonnes of vegetable at the storage facilities on the 15th of May. Despite the strong declines, this is still almost twice as much as last year.

The decline in carrots was particularly strong, with 8,000 tonnes. At the moment there are still 2,056 tonnes of carrots in storage. The supply of celery is still at 2,169 tonnes at the moment, that of onions at 2,551 tonnes, and that of red beets at 1,966 tonnes.
