Kris Peeters visits herb specialist Van Laethem

Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters visited the cultivation company of Van Laethem bvba in VLezenbeek. This site is not as well-known in general as the logistics entity in the European import centre in Brussels. Nevertheless it is in Vlezenbeek that many culinary herbs are grown and packed, whilst receiving the utmost care and are found again in many speciality shops, which are directed towards supplying hotels and restaurants.

Amongst others the minister led by Armel Moonens was shown through the administrative part of the company. After that he visited the glasshouses together with the other guests. They received a complete explanation from John Van Laethem and regularly tasted the various herbs and flowers.
After the company visit the minister-president spoke about the climate for entrepreneurs in Flemish-Brabant. He especially stressed that the climate in Flemish-Brabant is by far the best of Flanders. Also the rate of survival of newly-started entrepreneurs is higher in Flemish-Brabant.

"Amongst others oyster leaf, lemon verbina, red wood sorrel, roman sorrel, veined sorrel and others are grown here in the most modern manner and packed. Amongst the clients are top chefs, who look for that little bit extra quality and aroma of herbs and eatable flowers. The visit of our minister-president stimulates us to remain true to our visionary task of aroma's" as per John.

We thank our minister-president and all other prominent visitors for their presence and their positive contribution" Van Laethem concludes.
