The revamped Fresh Quality Guide represents a user-friendly source of all general legislative requirements covering quality standards, the food safety dossier and all topics related to labelling and nutrition, but also hygiene requirements, product packaging etc. These legal requirements cover all fresh fruit and vegetables, are easy accessible and are continuously updated to provide up to date information for today’s changing and demanding legislative environment.
Frederic Rosseneu, Director for Quality and Sustainability at Freshfel Europe, explained: "Launched in 2004 the Fresh Quality Guide has proven to be highly valuable for everybody in the fresh produce business dealing with these legislative requirements. The revamped website continues to offer all basic information free of charge to contribute to the efforts of the sector to harmoniously interpret and adhere to all legislative, sometimes complex, requirements. However, only Freshfel members will be able to go deeper into the topics with additional information and documents through accessing the members-only area and discover the complete added value of this site."
The Fresh Quality Guide is furthermore a major contribution of Freshfel to assist all operators in the chain in providing to consumers products with the highest possible quality and safety, with a great taste and texture in order to foster the pleasure to eat and enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables. Andreas Brügger, chairman of Freshfel’s Food Safety and Quality Working Group, stated: "I am pleased that Freshfel is today taking this well established initiative a step further in an important effort to continuously assist and benefit the sector as a whole, but also especially all Freshfel members. I am inviting everyone to visit this website and discover the new features it provides to its users, which I am sure benefit all individual business operations."
