Peruvian exports fall due to the crisis abroad
Agriculture Minister Luis Ginocchio, acknowledged that some agricultural export products were hit by the European financial and political crisis. The official explained that asparagus, peppers and grape shipments to Europe were the most affected products.
“It is true that the current crisis has hurt some export orders, but that's business, there are times when all is well and others when it is not," the official assured this after announcing the Experimental Agricultural Census, that will be held from May 25th to June 3rd.
On the other hand, the agriculture minister was against the proposed legislation to eliminate the labor regime that agro-export companies currently have.
Currently, "it is not a good time to take action adopting this nature, especially because of the drop in international orders and the strength of the nuevo sol against the dollar," he said.
