Established in 1983, the Seoul Food 2012 attracted 1,155 exhibitors from 43 countries and 47,552 trade visitors which covered the 70,449m2 space. The event was organized by Korea Trade- Investment Promotion and Agency (KOTRA) with the collaboration of Korea Food Industry Association (KFIA), All World Exhibitions and the Korean Exhibition Management (KEM).
The Seoul Food 2012 is part of the Korea Food Show 2012 which showcasing the development of Korean foods and the future of Korean food industry in the global market.
This year, the Seoul Food 2012 marked their 30th year with a theme "Smart Food, Delicious Life." It took place on May 5-8 at KINTEX Gyeonggi-do, Korea. And it was held alongside with four other events: the Seoul Food and Hotel; the Seoul FoodTech; the Seoul Culinary and the Korea Coffee Festival.

The four- day event included seminars, cooking shows and product tasting attended by wholesalers, producers, distributors, retailers and restaurateurs. Fresh exporters from China and Southeast Asia like Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand were present.
