India: Metro Cash and Carry’s mango festival in Kolkata

Metro Cash and Carry India has rolled out mango festival - ‘Metro Mango Hungama’ in Kolkata.

Metro plans to offer a wide variety of mangoes like Alphonsos, Baneshan, Imampasand, Langra, Senduran and Totapuri to its customers at wholesale rates.

These varieties have been sourced from local farmers in several regions of Bengal, including Mechua Fruit Market, Malda, Mushidabad and 24 Parganas (North), according to a press statement.

The mango festival is currently on at Metro outlets in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Delhi and Jaipur and will continue until July.

The wholesale prices of mangoes would range between Rs. 29.90 and Rs. 249.90.

This festival will not just allow customers to enjoy a wide variety of mangoes much beyond the local season, but also allow local farmers to take their produce to a much wider market through Metro’s network of wholesale centres across the country, the release said.
