"Willem Koole: "Good prices, but for how long?"

Spanish stone fruit season starts at Frukar

The Spanish stone fruit season has started at Frukar. "We have apricots, peaches and cherries. From Friday stone fruit from Murcia of the well-known hallmark Mina will also arrive" Willem Koole tells. "The supply of the stone fruit has been delayed by ten to fourteen days this year because of the cold weather and as a result supply of the small sizes is somewhat bigger."

The prices of the stone fruit are at a good level. But the importer fears that prices will decrease quickly when large volumes arrive on the market and the weather in Northern Europe does not improve quickly. "At the moment there is a good demand for stone fruit from Russia, but there the weather is beautiful at the moment. Also in Spain itself weather conditions are good resulting in a good consumption in the country of origin itself."
