Huelva
Unchanged since the last report, yellow flesh nectarines and peaches continue to be picked and will be available until week 24.
Seville and Cordoba
There are not large volumes available as a result of frosts during the flowering period. This is likely to affect the price of produce in the market, at least until the harvest is ready on other areas.
This week the harvesting of the variety May Suncrest, known for its high quality, is expected to begin.
other varieties being harvested are:
Yellow flesh peaches: May Crest, Candor, Sherman
Yellow flesh Nectarine: Lourdes, Crimson Baby, N2 92
White Flesh Nectarine: White delfin Casassil
White Flesh Peach: Polar
Murcia and Extramdura
Considerable volumes are anticipated as of week 21, though for Extramdura it may be week 22.
Apricots continue to be picked, with varieties Mogador, Mauricio, Roja Pasion, Galta Roja.
it is recommended to use the variety Roja Pasion for long journeys of more than 2 or 3 days.
Lérida
Picking of yellow nectarine Early Top and yellow peach Early Rich is expected to begin week 22-23.
Aragón
Picking of cherries, Early Bird, is finished with the last of the produce having been exported to France, Holland and Italy.
The picking of high brix, high coloured cherries, suitable for long journeys, is anticipated to begin this week.
Citrus
Valencia and Analucia
Early estimates are for a normal harvest in the Mediterranean area, for the 2012-2013 season. More figures will be released in future bulletins.
Murcia
Verna lemon is being picked in Murcia and Alicante.
