Dole Peru may increase organic banana sales by 15%
Dole, the leading marketer of Peruvian organic bananas (30% of total), expects to increase its share by 15% this year due to the increase of its suppliers and improvement on its product's quality, said Carlos Espinosa Nieto, Dole Peru Foundation general manager, as part of the First International Forum "Inclusive Markets and Production Transformation in Latin America," organized by CAF (Development Bank of Latin America) and AVINA, with support from SNV, an expert institution on issues of social inclusion worldwide.
The executive also said that growth expectations are a result of the success of health, business, community development, environmental protection, production development and education programs, that the institution has been developing since its beginning, in 2008.
These actions, Espinosa Nieto assured, are part of Dole's commitment to the communities where it operates, and that have been accelerated since the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), MIF and SNV became strategic partners to promote inclusive business, through the regional program "We all win."
